Christopher Kolda

Glynn Family Honors Professor in the College of Science

Christopher Kolda is co-director of the Glynn Family Honors Program and chair of Notre Dame's Department of Physics; he has been a member of the Glynn Family Honors Program Advisory Board since 2008. A member of Notre Dame's faculty since 2000, he  previously served as the associate department chair and director of undergraduate studies. His research focuses particle physics, and the relationship between the dominant ideas in that field and how we conceptualize the universe. Professor Kolda has been honored for excellence in teaching with the Kaneb Teaching Award, and previously served as a Kaneb Faculty Fellow.

As the founder of Glynn Capital Management, Notre Dame Trustee John Glynn (’62) has spent the past four decades investing in start-up technology businesses across the United States. In addition to this professorship, he and his wife, Barbara, have endowed several other Glynn professorships and the Glynn Family Honors Program at Notre Dame.
