Arthur F. and Mary J. O’Neil Visiting Professor of Business
The Arthur F. and Mary J. O’Neil Visiting Professorship supports visiting scholars who enhance the University’s academic community for a semester or full academic year, offering lectures and seminars that engage students and faculty and strengthen Notre Dame’s reputation for excellence in research and instruction.
Arthur O’Neil (’35), of Chicago, began his career in 1935 at his father’s W.E. O’Neil Construction Co., for which he eventually served as president and chairman of the board. O’Neil had a reputation for integrity in business. He was personally dedicated to the perpetuation and preservation of fair and good relations among labor and management.
